Guarantee Information

We provide a guarantee for our Photo Anodised Aluminium products that have had our matte or gloss clear coating applied. This coating gives extra UV and anti graffiti protection.

This guarantee includes a 7-10 year warranty against naturally caused deterioration such as fading, our sales staff with discuss warranty time frames with you relevant to aspect and position.

This guarantee does not provide warranty for vandalism. However, we provide the following advice, but take no liability for outcome, if the below methods are used to address vandalism:

  • If the ‘matte’ surface is scratched it can be sanded with 1500 wet & dry paper with water then buffed with stainless steel polish to remove the scratches. This will leave a slightly shiny area but it is hard to detect.
  • The ‘gloss’ surface is more difficult to resolve – you can use the same method as above but it will not return to its original shine. It can be returned to Miller and re-coated with an additional coat of gloss, which will ‘hide’ the scratches.

Sign Cleaning Instructions

Why clean your signs?

Regular cleaning is recommended to assist with maintaining your signs in their original condition and increase their life. As well as sunlight and natural climatic conditions, there are many factors which can detract from the legibility and performance of outdoor signage; these include dust and grime build-up, accumulation of pollutants (particularly in city and industrial areas), bird faeces, mould, and in coastal areas, salt deposits from salt spray.

Do’s & Don’ts

  • DO clean your signs at least once a year
  • DO use soft clean cloths
  • DO use mild detergents and cream cleaners
  • DON’T use any bleaches, ammonia oven cleaners, caustic or alkaline cleaners

General Sign Cleaning Procedure

  1. Wet the sign liberally with a clean wet cloth and concentrate on softening any hard deposits such as dried bird droppings.  Don’t smear across face of sign as this may cause unnecessary scratching.
  2. Using a clean cloth, water and a mild detergent clean the whole sign face.  If stubborn dirt and grime is encountered, use a non-scratching cream cleaner such as “Jif” or equivalent.
  3. Rinse the sign thoroughly with clean water and wipe dry with a clean cloth.
  4. A “non-cutting” polish should be applied at this stage to remove any fine scratches and to improve the general appearance durability.
